The Room-by-Room Deep Cleaning Checklist for Charlotte Homes

Everything a deep clean covers, kitchen to bedrooms, plus how to get your home ready, what affects the time it takes, and how to keep it clean afterward.

Topic: Deep Cleaning guides ยท Service: Deep cleaning

A deep clean is our most detailed clean. It reaches the places a regular visit doesn't: baseboards, vents, light fixtures, the inside of your appliances and cabinets, and the buildup in kitchen and bathroom grout. If your Charlotte home hasn't had a professional clean in a while, this is where to start.

Below is the checklist our cleaners follow on a deep clean, room by room, and how to get the most out of the visit.

Start with the standard checklist

A deep clean includes everything in a standard clean: counters and backsplash sanitized, sinks and faucets disinfected, toilets cleaned inside and out, surfaces dusted and wiped, beds made, trash emptied and floors vacuumed and mopped. The deep clean checklist adds the detail work on top of that.

Kitchen

  • Inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers
  • Inside the microwave
  • Inside the oven, and the stovetop
  • Inside the refrigerator
  • Inside the dishwasher door and filter area
  • Range hood degreasing
  • Backsplash grout

Bathrooms

  • Scale and soap scum on the tub and shower
  • Walls and tile grout
  • Baseboards
  • Light fixtures and the exhaust fan
  • Light switches and handles

Living and dining areas

  • Baseboards and trim
  • Interior doors and frames
  • Vents and return grilles
  • Ceiling fans, high fixtures and light fixtures
  • Light switches and door handles
  • Spot cleaning on the walls

Bedrooms

  • Closet shelves and doors
  • Baseboards and trim
  • Spot cleaning on the walls
  • Ceiling fans and light fixtures

Extras you can add

Some jobs aren't on the deep clean checklist, but you can add them when you book: interior windows, wet-wiped blinds or a garage sweep. Each extra is priced in the booking form before you confirm.

How to prepare for your deep clean

You don't need a perfect home before we arrive. A few small steps help your cleaner spend the visit on the detail work:

  1. Clear counters and floors where you can, so every surface is reachable.
  2. Add notes to your booking about any problem areas, like a greasy range hood or a shower with heavy soap scum.
  3. Secure pets that might get nervous around vacuums. We're a pet-friendly service, but we don't clean pet waste.
  4. If you won't be home, leave lockbox, key code or front desk entry instructions in your booking notes. We let you know when we arrive and when we finish.

You don't need to buy anything. Your cleaner brings the supplies (cleaning solutions, microfiber towels and vacuums), and we use eco-friendly products. If you'd like us to use a product of your own, leave it on the counter with a note.

How long does a deep clean take?

It depends on your home's size and condition. A three-bedroom house with heavy kitchen buildup needs more time than a tidy one-bedroom apartment. Usually one cleaner comes, but larger homes and deep cleans may get a team of cleaners. Your cleaner arrives in your arrival window, usually a 1-hour window, and you see your price in the booking form before you book.

Deep clean or standard clean?

Book a deep clean when it's your first professional clean or the first in a long while, before guests, a holiday or a family event, or before you start a recurring schedule. If your home was cleaned professionally not long ago and you keep up with the kitchen and bathrooms, a standard clean is enough. Our guide to deep clean vs. standard clean compares the two checklists side by side.

After the deep clean: keep it there

A deep clean resets your home. A recurring standard clean keeps it at that level, at a lower price per visit. You can book weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly, and for recurring cleans we keep the same cleaner whenever we can.

Our promise

Every cleaner we send has passed a background check. If anything on your checklist was missed, tell us within 24 hours and we come back and re-clean that area free. A hold is placed on your card 24 hours before your clean, and you're charged when the job is done. Need to move the date? Reschedule with no charge up to 24 hours before your arrival window.

We clean homes across Charlotte and nearby towns, including Matthews, Mint Hill, Concord and Fort Mill. See your deep cleaning price and book online.
