Finishing a remodel is exciting, until you notice a fine white powder settling on your new cabinets, counters and floors hours after the contractors pack up.
Why construction dust lingers
Sanding drywall and cutting materials makes very fine dust. It settles slowly, gets inside cabinets and drawers, and collects on ledges, baseboards and light fixtures. Wiping it dry can just move it around, so it usually takes damp cleaning, room by room, to lift it off.
How we approach it
Our post-construction cleaning works through the space room by room from a written checklist:
- Surfaces, ledges, shelves and window sills
- Inside and outside of cabinets and drawers
- Baseboards, doors and frames, light fixtures and switches
- Kitchens and bathrooms
- Floors, vacuumed and mopped
Heavy construction debris, hazardous waste and repairs are not part of the service.
A practical tip
If your HVAC system has been running during construction, ask your contractor about changing the air filter once the work is done, so dust isn't pushed back into the rooms.
Every project is different, so post-construction cleaning is quoted for your project. Send us your details and we'll get back to you with a quote.
