If you've searched "how much does house cleaning cost," you've probably seen a wide range of answers. That's because there isn't one price that fits every home. A one-bedroom apartment in Uptown that gets cleaned every two weeks and a large family house in Ballantyne that hasn't had a professional clean in a year are very different jobs.
This guide explains what changes the price of a house cleaning in Charlotte, how a flat price works, and how to see your exact price before you book. For our current starting prices, see our house cleaning prices page. Those numbers come straight from our booking system, so they're always up to date.
A flat price, not an hourly rate
A lot of people search for house cleaning cost per hour. We don't charge by the hour. You pay a flat price for the job, based on your home and the type of clean.
That helps you in two ways. You know the total before you book. And the price doesn't go up if a room takes longer than expected. The price you see in the booking form is the price for that clean.
Your home's size
Size is the biggest factor. More square footage means more floors to vacuum and mop, more surfaces to dust and more rooms to work through. Bathrooms count too, because they take the most scrubbing of any room in the house.
So a townhome in Matthews with two bathrooms will cost less than a larger house in Fort Mill with four. Our booking form asks about your home first for exactly this reason.
The type of clean
Each service covers a different amount of work, so each one is priced differently:
- A standard clean is regular upkeep: kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and floors.
- A deep clean adds the detail work and buildup a regular clean skips, like baseboards, vents, light fixtures and the inside of the oven, fridge and cabinets.
- A move in / move out clean covers the same detail as a deep clean, in an empty home. It's priced by square footage and bathrooms.
- An Airbnb turnover follows our deep clean checklist between guests.
- Post-construction cleaning and office cleaning are quoted for each job, because every space is different.
The condition of your home
A home that hasn't been cleaned in a while takes more work than one that's kept up. That's why a deep clean is a good first clean. After that, regular visits are smaller jobs, and they cost less.
Extras you add
Some tasks aren't part of a standard clean, but you can add them when you book:
- Inside the refrigerator
- Inside the oven
- Inside the cabinets
- Interior windows
- Baseboards
Each extra is priced in the booking form before you confirm, so nothing comes as a surprise. If you'd want several of these, compare the price with a deep clean, which already includes the inside of the oven, fridge and cabinets, plus baseboards.
How often we come
Weekly house cleaning cost and monthly house cleaning cost are different from a one-time clean. When you book a recurring schedule (weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly), every visit is discounted. The more often we come, the bigger the discount: weekly gets the biggest, then every 2 weeks, then monthly.
The booking form shows the current discount before you confirm. Not sure which schedule fits? Read how often you should get your house cleaned.
What every price includes
Whatever you book, the price covers the same things:
- A written, room-by-room checklist your cleaner follows
- Cleaning supplies: your cleaner brings cleaning solutions, microfiber towels and vacuums
- Background-checked cleaners, and a business that carries general liability insurance
- Eco-friendly cleaning products
- No travel fee anywhere in our service area: Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Concord, Harrisburg, Gastonia, Belmont, Fort Mill and Rock Hill
- Our 100% satisfaction guarantee: tell us within 24 hours if anything was missed, and we come back and re-clean that area free
How payment works
We take credit and debit cards through Stripe, and we don't take cash. Your card holds the booking. A hold is placed 24 hours before your clean, and you're charged when the job is done. If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your arrival window, there's no charge.
