How Often Should You Get Your House Cleaned?

Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly or just once? How to pick a house cleaning schedule that fits your home, your household and your week.

There's no single right answer to how often you should get your house cleaned. It depends on how many people live in your home, whether you have pets, how much time you spend there, and how much tidying you like to do yourself.

Here's how to think it through, and how the schedules we offer in Charlotte and nearby towns compare.

The three recurring schedules

We clean on three recurring schedules: weekly, every 2 weeks and monthly. Each visit is a standard clean that follows the same written checklist. That covers the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and floors.

Recurring visits cost less than a one-time clean. The more often we come, the bigger the discount: weekly gets the biggest, then every 2 weeks, then monthly. The booking form shows the current discount before you confirm.

Weekly cleaning

Weekly cleaning suits busy homes. Think families with kids, homes with pets, or households where everyone works long hours and the weekends fill up fast.

When we come every week, dust, pet hair and kitchen spills don't have time to build up. Each visit is mostly upkeep, so the home stays close to "just cleaned" all the time.

Every 2 weeks

Every 2 weeks suits most households. It's a good balance for couples and small families who keep things fairly tidy between visits.

Bathrooms and kitchens still get a proper clean before soap scum and grease start to set in, and you get your weekends back.

Monthly cleaning

Monthly cleaning suits smaller homes, people who live alone, or anyone who tidies up regularly and wants a professional clean to cover the bigger jobs.

Because more builds up in a month, monthly visits have more to catch up on each time.

Just once

Not ready for a schedule? You can book a one-time clean with no commitment. People often book one before guests arrive, before a holiday or a home showing, or after a busy stretch at work. If you like the result, you can book a recurring schedule anytime.

Questions to help you decide

  • How many people and pets live in your home? More people and pets usually means more frequent cleaning.
  • How much do you cook at home? Busy kitchens benefit from more frequent visits.
  • How many bathrooms do you have? Bathrooms build up fastest, so more bathrooms often means more frequent visits.
  • How much do you tidy between visits? If you keep up with the small jobs, a longer gap may be enough.
  • What's your week like? If cleaning eats into your only free time, a more frequent schedule gives that time back.

Start with a deep clean

If your home hasn't had a professional clean in a while, the first visit is the biggest job, so start with a deep clean. It covers baseboards, doors and trim, vents, light fixtures and buildup in the kitchen and bathrooms.

After that, a recurring standard clean keeps your home at that level. Each visit stays manageable, because there's less to catch up on.

What recurring cleaning looks like with us

  • The same written checklist on every visit
  • The same cleaner whenever we can. If they're unavailable, another cleaner follows your checklist and notes, and we let you know ahead.
  • Your cleaner brings the supplies: cleaning solutions, microfiber towels and vacuums
  • You don't need to be home. Leave a lockbox, key code or front desk note in your booking.
  • Need to move a visit? Reschedule at least 24 hours before your arrival window at no charge.
